Tent Troupe, the only traveling summer
tent theater in America, made a one-day appearance on July 13 at Trinity.
A special children's matinee entitled
"Lions, Tigers, and Bears, Oh My" was in the afternoon. At 8 p.m. the troupe performed
the Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman Pulitzer Prize-winning play "You Can't
Take It With You" about the unique Sycamore family. While light and
entertaining, it has much to say about family values today.
This is the 35th season for Tent
Troupe, a group of high school performers from St. Luke Lutheran Church in
Silver Spring, Maryland. For more than three decades, Tent Troupe
has performed for more than 230,000 people in 29 states and Canada.

Watoto means “The Children.’’ Since 1994,
Watoto Children’s Choir from Kampala, Uganda, has regularly toured the
United States, Canada and Great Britain. Accompanied by a small team of
adults, Watoto’s performances are a soulful blend of native African
rhythms, contemporary gospel music and ethnic dance.
These children are among the more than 2
million children in Uganda that have had the tragic and life-altering
experience of losing one or both of their parents to the AIDS virus or to
war. Now, through their lively and inspiring performances, the members of
the Watoto Children’s Choir share their unique experiences, as well as
their newfound joy and hope.

Fishing at Tom and Penny Hall's
Despite the brief periods of

around the pond at the home of Tom and Penny Hall. Several youth caught
blue gill, which were taken home, fried and enjoyed by the Berger family.
